Are Your Feet Ready For Spring?

pedicure-color-a-week-summer-nail-polish-final

We all love the relaxing idea of having our pedicures done in a nail spa or salon but how about giving yourself a pedicure right in the comfort of home. And with picking and choosing your own tools and nail colors, the experience can end up being much less expensive than visiting a nail spa or salon.

So to get those toes spring ready at home follow the steps below to give yourself a relaxing at home pedicure just in time for Spring.

You’ll Need:

  • Non-acetone nail polishes remover and cotton balls
  • Nail file and buffing block
  • Orange wood stick
  • Sugar scrub
  • Cuticle oil
  • Moisturizer
  • Nail polishes (a beautiful spring color, base coat and top coat)
  • Tub for soaking feet (you may use a dish tub found at Target)

Gather Tools & Polishes

You’re going to want to gather everything you need first because once you start to soak your feet you will need to keep them in the water.

Step 1

Buff your feet when they are dry not wet to really remove dead skin. With your foot file you will be sure to focus on the heels, balls of feet and toe area.

Step 2

Fill your tub with warm water and add a foot soak that will help to strengthen your nails. Soak for 10 minutes.

Step 3

Massage feet briskly with a foot scrub to remove any dead skin residue.

Step 4

Dry your feet and gently press back on your cuticles.

Step 5

Cut your nails straight across using lots of little snips so that you don’t break a nail.

Step 6

Use a nail file to gently round the edges of your nails to prevent rips and tears in tights, socks, etc.

Step 7

Use a rich foot lotion to massage into your feet.

Step 8

After covering your feet in foot lotion add warm socks and keep on for an hour or over night.

Step 9

If adding nail color, wipe off foot lotion from your nails using a damp cotton wool pad. Then add a base coat, two layers of your chosen color and a high shine top coat.

Enjoy your new pedicure!

These are some of my favorite nail colors for the upcoming Spring 2016
