Are Your Feet Ready For Spring?

pedicure-color-a-week-summer-nail-polish-final

We all love the relaxing idea of having our pedicures done in a nail spa or salon but how about giving yourself a pedicure right in the comfort of home. And with picking and choosing your own tools and nail colors, the experience can end up being much less expensive than visiting a nail spa or salon.

So to get those toes spring ready at home follow the steps below to give yourself a relaxing at home pedicure just in time for Spring.

You’ll Need:

  • Non-acetone nail polishes remover and cotton balls
  • Nail file and buffing block
  • Orange wood stick
  • Sugar scrub
  • Cuticle oil
  • Moisturizer
  • Nail polishes (a beautiful spring color, base coat and top coat)
  • Tub for soaking feet (you may use a dish tub found at Target)

Gather Tools & Polishes

You’re going to want to gather everything you need first because once you start to soak your feet you will need to keep them in the water.

Step 1

Buff your feet when they are dry not wet to really remove dead skin. With your foot file you will be sure to focus on the heels, balls of feet and toe area.

Step 2

Fill your tub with warm water and add a foot soak that will help to strengthen your nails. Soak for 10 minutes.

Step 3

Massage feet briskly with a foot scrub to remove any dead skin residue.

Step 4

Dry your feet and gently press back on your cuticles.

Step 5

Cut your nails straight across using lots of little snips so that you don’t break a nail.

Step 6

Use a nail file to gently round the edges of your nails to prevent rips and tears in tights, socks, etc.

Step 7

Use a rich foot lotion to massage into your feet.

Step 8

After covering your feet in foot lotion add warm socks and keep on for an hour or over night.

Step 9

If adding nail color, wipe off foot lotion from your nails using a damp cotton wool pad. Then add a base coat, two layers of your chosen color and a high shine top coat.

Enjoy your new pedicure!

These are some of my favorite nail colors for the upcoming Spring 2016

Old Navy Clog Boot Review

Happy Thursday Shoe Lovers!!

I hope the week has been great for everyone so far. I want to share with you my thoughts on the clog boot from Old Navy.

OMGosh!!! These boots are by far the most comfortable boots that I have ever worn. I went to my kids school for awards assemblies and then grocery shopping all in these boots and my feet felt great during and afterwards. No pain, no discomfort. The only thing I would say is for me they run a little big, when I walked the boots flopped off my feet just a little bit. But other then that five stars from this shoe lover.

As for the style..well I love the bohemian style of these clog boots. I paired mine with skinny jeans, black tank and a casual black blazer but you can easily pair them with boot cuts and a bohemian style top.

Love my boots? You can get your very own HERE and they are currently on sale for $30!

What is your latest shoe splurge?

Sunday Outfit

Why are all my flats so wide? I don’t have wide feet, I really don’t!!

Anyway,

Happy Sunday All! Hope you’re having an amazing day! I started my day with church and now I am just hanging out with my little family.

Today’s shoes are metallic silver flats from JCrew Factory. I got these beauties at Christmas time for around $50 which I thought was great especially since I needed some silver flats. The weather outside is so beautiful that I decided to wear soft creams and grays today with my flats. Those colors reminds me of spring time and today felt like Spring.

How is your Sunday going? And you know I have to ask, what shoes did you wear today?

These Shoes Were Made For Walking

I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far! I had a great day spent with my family. We went downtown to the museum and visited the exhibits and the kids loved it. I wore my Gap leopard slip on sneakers and they were so comfortable. They are the perfect shoe for taking long strolls around downtown. I do think they run a little big but I still find them to be VERY comfortable.

How did you spend/spending your Saturday and what shoe did you wear today?

Happy Friday!

Today has been such a busy day for me so I am just getting around to posting. Today I did my weekly grocery shopping at Target and as usual was in there all day. I found myself caught up in the makeup aisle where I added a few goodies to my makeup collection. Anyway after being in the store for X amount of hours my feet started to hurt…I thought flats were supposed to be comfortable but not my gray Express flats. I might as well have had on heels. Some kitten heels are more comfortable.

My shoe of the day. My gray Express flats. A little painful after walking around for a few hours.

I find that Express flats normally run a tad bit small for me. I purchased three pair of their flats in my usual size and had the same problems with sizing.  I finally found a pair that fits true-to-size when I found these beauties I absolutely love the metallic strap with the nude combo. Find them HERE

What are your plans for the weekend? What shoes are you wearing?

Oh and have a great weekend!

My Favorite Color This Season Is…

CHESTNUT!!! or camel. I really love this color and I find that it goes with a lot of colors normally worn in the winter such as burgundy, green and black. This color can also transition into Spring by pairing it with soft pastels such as minty greens, soft pinks and soft yellows. If you don’t have a pair of chestnut shoes (flats or heels) in your closet, get a pair now. You can even go with a camel colored shoe as the colors are very similar. I chose the chestnut asymmetrical pointed toe flats because I really liked the ankle strap design. What is your go to color of the season when it comes to your shoe collection?

p.s. Have an amazing Thursday!

Quietness

My house is so quiet right now!

Anyway, Happy Wednesday! I hope today is a great day. I just got back from the post office and it is much quieter now then at Christmas time! The weather outside is grey and the cloudiness and rain makes me want to wear a darker shoe. Do you know what I mean? I always pick my shoes based on the weather outside. I once made the mistake of wearing suede in the rain…NEVER AGAIN!! Today I am really feeling a plaid shoe. It seems like my plaid shoes only works in the fall and winter times. My particular pair of plaid shoes are fabric so I still have to be careful when I wear them. Do you like plaid shoes, if so how do you wear yours?

New Found Love

It’s a late Tuesday evening and I just created my new blog and decided that I would share my new found love with you guys. Believe it or not I just purchased my first pair of shoes EVER from Zara…well I’m guilty of believing that Zara was super expensive so I never checked them out. I love shoes and buy so many that I am always looking for a good deal so I didn’t think twice to check them out.

One busy online shopping day in December (this was after Christmas) I decided to google their site and check them out. I was surprised at the prices and I brought a pair of flats quickly. Went back a couple days later and spotted two pair of kitten heels that I had to have and another pair of flats, this was during their end of the year sale.

All in all I must say that I am very pleased with the four pair of shoes purchased from them so far. The quality is good and the sizes are true. I will check them out again one day. What are your thoughts on Zara shoes?
